W.A.R.M. – Promoting Wellness and Resilience in eco-Anxiety

The European Erasmus+ project W.A.R.M. (Promoting Wellness and Resilience in Eco-Anxiety), in which AmKE IASIS participates as a partner, aims to address eco-anxiety, which is defined as a chronic fear of environmental disaster, resulting from the worsening climate change and threats to the environment. By developing innovative tools and resources for educators and mental health professionals, the project aims to reduce the distress caused by this condition and provide individuals, especially those in remote areas, with the necessary support to cope with the fear and uncertainty of the future

Project objectives:
- Provide non-formal education to adult educators, trainers, coaches, counselors and mental health professionals through digital training material, generated by individuals who have experienced eco-anxiety symptoms.
- Assist people in remote areas who are vulnerable to anxiety related to climate change by empowering adult educators to support them
- Gather national communities and actors in mental health from each partner country to raise awareness about eco-anxiety and promote recommendations for its classification as a recognized anxiety disorder.
- Enhance the training portfolios of Adult Education centers and staff by incorporating innovative digital tools and material on eco-anxiety,
- Foster innovation and inclusiveness in digital pedagogical methods for teaching, training, learning, and assessment.
- Start an international conversation about eco-anxiety and support its categorization as a recognized clinical anxiety disorder.
