Title: IDEAL: Inclusive Democratic Engagement and Language Technologies in Europe

Objectives

The aim of the IDEAL project is to strengthen participation in political processes among different cultural and linguistic groups, ensuring  a more representative and inclusive democratic process at all levels of governance in the EU. The project places particular emphasis on collaboration through crowdsourcing and social innovation to address the complex challenges associated with political participation.

Main Target Group

The broad target group includes:

  • Linguistic minorities
  • Ethnic minorities
  • Immigrants and refugees
  • People with communication difficulties (e.g., dyslexia, visual impairments)
  • People who are socially or politically excluded due to language or culture

Project  outcomes

  • Development of a European multilingual consultation space
  • New AI tools for translation, simplification, reading, and visualization
  • Strengthening of minority participation policies
  • Production of policy recommendations
  • Specific to each pilot: empowerment of refugees, migrants, and people with visual impairments
