Social inclusion and participation of Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults in Citizen Science for Climate Change – CitSci4All

The European Erasmus+ KA2 Project “CitSci4All”  aims to empower Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults to engage with Citizen Science (CS) through rigorous scientific research, data collection and analysis of results in relation to climate change. This project sees citizen science as a means for social and environmental justice with an immediate impact on people’s living conditions. In “CitSci4All” project citizens take an active role, but not solely for the designation of the scientific value of citizen science, but also to exercise their rights for equal participation in societal life, including scientific initiatives of Open Science.

The target group of the project is DHH institutions & trainers. Final beneficiaries are Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults (DHH)

Outputs

  1. A guide on DHH populations’ engagement in citizen science for climate change
  2. A customized citizen science toolkit for trainers working with DHH populations
  3. A comprehensive report on citizen science project implementations by DHH adults for climate change
  4. A report on the lessons learnt and gained through the inclusion of DHH adults & trainers in citizen science projects for climate change
