Project Number: 101233558
.
The European project PREVENT, in which the NGO IASIS participates as a partner, is implemented within the framework of the EU4Health programme and aims to prevent suicide and strengthen mental health within the criminal justice system.
.
The project focuses both on staff working in supervision and correctional facilities and on individuals who come into contact with the justice system and present increased psychosocial needs. It develops an integrated prevention framework that includes training activities for professionals, tools for the early identification and management of mental health difficulties, as well as interventions aimed at strengthening resilience.
.
At the same time, PREVENT promotes collaboration between mental health services and justice systems, enhancing linkage and continuity of care for individuals at risk.
.
Objectives of the programme
- Prevention of suicide and severe mental health crises among individuals in contact with the criminal justice system.
- Strengthening professionals’ ability to early identify signs of psychological
distress and risk. - Enhancing the mental resilience and occupational well-being of staff.
- Improving cooperation between mental health providers and justice services.
- Promoting evidence-based and sustainable prevention practices at European level.
.
Through transnational cooperation and the exchange of best practices, PREVENT contributes to shaping a more preventive, supportive, and resilient mental health framework in Europe.
