Scenario-Building Workshop for Climate Resilience in Athens

On October 31, 2025, IASIS implemented the Local Scenario-Building Workshop in the framework of WP8 of the FOSTER project, funded by the CERV Programme of the European Union. Held in Athens, the workshop gathered 25 participants from local authorities, civil society, universities, professionals and active citizens—working together to explore possible climate futures for the city.

Using participatory foresight tools such as the 2×2 Scenario Matrix and the Futures Wheel, attendees analysed key drivers shaping Athens’ climate resilience, focusing on:
Extreme heat
Flood risk
Urban green infrastructure
Community engagement
Institutional readiness
.
Through group work and facilitated discussion, participants co-developed preliminary scenarios for 2035 and mapped short-term and long-term implications for the city. These insights will guide the next phase of the project—co-designing local solutions under WP9.

Εργαστήριο Ανάπτυξης Σεναρίων για την Κλιματική Ανθεκτικότητα στην Αθήνα

Στις 31 Οκτωβρίου 2025, η ΙΑΣΙΣ υλοποίησε το τοπικό Scenario-Building Workshop στο πλαίσιο του WP8 του έργου FOSTER, που χρηματοδοτείται από το CERV Programme της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης.
Το εργαστήριο πραγματοποιήθηκε στην Αθήνα και συγκέντρωσε 25 συμμετέχοντες από φορείς, οργανισμούς, πανεπιστήμια, επαγγελματίες και ενεργούς πολίτες—με στόχο τη διερεύνηση πιθανών κλιματικών σεναρίων για το μέλλον της πόλης.

Με τη χρήση συμμετοχικών εργαλείων όπως το 2×2 Scenario Matrix και το Futures Wheel, οι συμμετέχοντες ανέλυσαν βασικούς παράγοντες που διαμορφώνουν την κλιματική ανθεκτικότητα της Αθήνας, εστιάζοντας σε:
Ακραία θερμότητα
Κίνδυνο πλημμυρών
Έλλειψη και λειτουργία πράσινων χώρων
Συμμετοχή της κοινότητας
Ετοιμότητα θεσμών

Μέσα από ομαδική εργασία και καθοδηγούμενη συζήτηση, συν-ανάπτυξαν αρχικά σενάρια για το 2035 και χαρτογράφησαν άμεσες και μελλοντικές επιπτώσεις για την πόλη.
Τα αποτελέσματα θα αξιοποιηθούν στην επόμενη φάση του έργου—τη συν-δημιουργία λύσεων στο WP9.
